How To Find Out Where Your Lexus NX Was Built?
If you are interested in where your Lexus NX was built, the answer is Vehicle Identification Number, or VIN for short. The VIN serves as a unique identification number for your car. Not only can it tell you where your car was built, but it can also reveal specific information about your car’s engine, body style, and what accessories are on your vehicle.
Why are VINs important?
The VIN has been used in the United States since 1981. Prior to this, most vehicles had separate identification numbers for each body part. For example, there would be one number for the engine and another for the transmission case. This made it difficult to maintain an accurate inventory of parts when repairing a damaged vehicle. VINs provide a standard that makes it easier to track vehicle parts that might be needed down the road.
Where can I find my VIN?
The first place to look is on the driver’s side of your dashboard near the mirror. You may need to open your door to see it clearly. If you don’t see it there, check on the driver’s side door frame next to the latch mechanism or inside the glove compartment lid (on some models).
